I would like to let you know of a document we have produced called the WMU
Profiling Review.
The WMU Profiling Review is a 3consumer report2 that provides an
independent, objective assessment of current software products and ranks
them according to their colorimetric accuracy. The WMU Profiling Review is
released bi-annually on January 1 and July 1. The latest version, WMU
Profiling Review 3.0, is now ready. This version of the review is also
published as a Seybold Report.
Products covered in the review are Fujifilm ColourKit ProfileMaker,
GretagMacbeth Eye-One Match, GretagMacbeth ProfileMaker, ICS basICColor,
Monaco EZColor, Monaco Profiler and X-Rite ColorShop. Generic profiles and
Apple9s Display Calibrator utility were also tested.
Profiles were made for scanner, printer, LCD panel and CRT display.
Version history
Version 1.0 Released April 1, 2002. Covered scanner profiles and monitor
profiles.
Version 1.1 Released April 9, 2002. Maintenance release to amend one
numerical result.
Version 2.0 Released July 1, 2002. Now covers printer profiles and new
software products. Version 2 includes all the results of the earlier
versions.
Version 3.0 Released January 1, 2003. Now covers LCD profiling.
To get a copy
Version 3.0 was sent automatically to all those on who requested an earlier
version of the review. New subscribers can get the review free by sending me
an e-mail with WMU Profiling Review in the subject line.
Read this report to see how the different products stack up.
