My new Sony DSC 85 comes without color profile.
Is it better to import (ImageCapture) without any profile or should I use the suggested RGB-Standard Profile from ColorSync-Utility?

Unless you have another profile for your camera go ahead and use the Generic RGB Profile. It's a decent representation of the standard 1.8 gamma Mac environment, and since that's what you're viewing the image in it's more representative than nothing. If you find another profile that looks better as a source you can embed that instead, just pick it from the list in Image Capture.

Keep in mind that your camera behavior will change depending on what lighting setting it chooses, meaning the Automatic color balance setting is the most chaotic, it'll pick one of the white balance settings as it sees fit. Each setting (flourescent, incandescent, daylight) is obviously completely different color wise, and in Auto mode cameras don't always pick the setting you might think they would. Ideally you might have a different profile for each white balance setting, and set it manually and remember which shots were taken with what white balance and assign the right profile accordingly.
