43? Its brighter than that in Grant's tomb! Set the software to standard
mode, and it won't mess with the existing black or white points, which is
generally what is best anyhow. The terms "precision" and "standard" are
loaded, so that users are convinced that precision must be superior, which is
not really the case. And if your monitor's luminance is truely 43 candelas
per m/s, then get a new one.
