I presume you must use a different colorimeter with Optical as the i1 is not
(will never be?) by the CV software. So that simple fact may very well
account for the difference you're seeing. Plus, there are bound to be a host
of other factors, apart from the nature of the instruments you're using,
that would account for the differences you're seeing.
There are no standardization across instruments and certainly no
standardization across various pieces of CMS software. Otherwise, we'd be
like Russia: all using the same software and hardware. But that is not the
case (thank god!). All CMS manufacturers are rivaling in color science so
that iMatch and OptiCal have very different underlying color models. So
there is bound to be some degree of differences between the two.
