(Mark) We seem to agree on a lot of things. Obviously, bundled CMS
.."
You get what you pay for, I believe that color management is
difficult for many to grasp and implement except the luminaries on
this list. I think we are many years' away form having consistent and
reliable cheap CMS in place, especially for digital cameras.
Coloreyes is a fine product, exacting in its requirements and
exacting in its return to the user.
I would run from a bundled CMMS in my digital cameras unless
something revolutionary happens first, like most of the manufactures
getting a far better drift on color management.
Cannon is to be praised for its link up with Phase one, but still you
need to have your CCD or CMOS chip profiled and that's not a part of
their new partnership. Nor should it be.
It's been said before but as digital color management is still really
in it's nascence, We are all beta testers, altruists and a curious
lot. Years from now perhaps low cost CMS will be a reality but as I
can only hold my breath for about a minute; meanwhile I'll jump at
anything that helps 'ye old workflow. Pixel by pixel it getter
better all the time but not at the speed of Moiri's (can't help the
pun) law.
