Thats a bit of a myth, using third party inks does not void your warranty in
the US; by law. Damage that can be proven to be caused by the inks will not
necessarily be covered, however. In this case its rather a moot point, the
2000p works fine with the 1280 inks, and the printer is second hand to begin
with.

Yes, the color shift is more prominant on gloss papers than on matte ones.
