I've been playing with Fuji's ColourKit (v3) software and have to say I'm
pretty impressed with the quality of the CMYK output profiles. They are
smoother and more neutral than profiles I've made for the same
device/paper/ink combinations with other packages. I'm hoping v4 brings
even more improvements! I haven't gotten to evaluating the profile editing
capabilities, but this is never something I've been comfortable with
anyway. I haven't graphed them in 3D or mapped the arrangement of the
dilithium crystals, but sure makes a nice looking print! Maybe ColourKit
(also called Profilemaker) doesn't have the slick UI that Gretag MacBeth
ProfileMaker has, or all of the knobs and switches that the color
geek/power users want, but it seems to get the job done.
I'll be trying some RGB output profiles soon and will share my results.
