While it is great to design in a large and visually uniform color
space, it is also necessary to know if the values in an RGB design
color space are reproducible in a standard offset CMYK color space.
The ECI has posted ISO 12647-2 simulation and separation profiles on
http://www.eci.org. There are two packages, a base package with 4 high
resolution profiles and an expert package with 16 high resolution
profiles.
The ISO profiles either represent white backing or black backing. The
type of backing is referenced in the name of the profile.
