Hi we are on the same boat: damn the 7700 and look to switch to DC12.
Here's my experience on the DC12 (w/EFI Rip) but it's very limited (only 5 minutes of hands-on, and about 4 prints made):
- Color quality is far beyond the 7700's
- Interface (driver settings, usage report and the like) far behind the 7700
- Unlike the 7700 prints where you can see screen lines, the DC12 prints are a thick layer of ink
- The 7700 is the new flagship model from Xerox, while the DC12 is comparatively old, my feeling is that the DC12 is only better in color fidelity.
I suggest you print the PhotoDisc Test Image on the DC12 then compare it to your 7700's, seeing is believing, words maybe shifted!
