Yes when printing a target to build a profile - not when print jobs. There
are other things that are controlled by the input color profiles that have
to be enabled to print correctly.

No you can not freely interchange profiles between both platforms because
you would lack a resource fork for the Mac to see a correct file type. You
must pass a Mac profile through "DropColorsyncProfile" or some other fixit
program that Andrew mentioned in order for mac to see them and use them.
I'm not trying to be a pain, but you have to be very specific about things
you say or it just doesn't work.
