Within reasonable limits there is no difference between the two methods. In
my opinion, as long as you don't have to reduce your Contrast control below
90% then that is a fine method.
When providing a 'recommended procedure' I try to keep it straightforward
and not offer variations so it is easier to explain and be understood.
As with many issues in the 'color world', there is more than one way to
achieve the desired result.
