Hi all,
I've some questions concerning softproofing and color conversions in
Photoshop 5.5 and/or 6.0.
- First, when I set the color setting (profiles) in Photoshop 6.0 the same
as the CMYK and RGB settings in photoshop 5.5, the result is not the same.
Photshop 6.0 is always too saturated (I think only the black, not 100% sure
of it). Am I doing something wrong?
RGB -> Adobe RGB (1998)
CMYK -> Our press profile
Color Engine -> Colorsync
Rendering Intent -> Relative
- Second is that when I change the rendering intent in Photoshop 6.0 (with
preview enabled), the view does not change. It stays the same.
Normally, there should be a 'big' difference between relative intent, and
saturation or perceptual?
- Third problem is that I always have a reddish tint when I calibrate my
screen. It's a Lacie monitor, and I measure and profile it with the gretag
software + Spectrolino.
eg, after profiling, I look at the neutral gray background on the screen and
it's a little reddish. The images also does not match our prints, there is a
little difference in the blue and red dark colors. We are using Epson 5000
and BestRIP for proofing,
Can I make a correction into the monitor profile? I've tried with Profile
Editor but this does not work (the results are not good).
- Last question, we received RGB images (without any camera profile
included), and need to print these. Is there a good way to convert these
images to CMYK? Are there some rules?
I normally go in photoshop to Mode -> profile to profile and then:
FROM: ADOBE RGB (1998)
TO: Our Press Profile
Rendering Intent: Perceptual
Thanks in advance for your help.
