Photshop 6.0 is always too saturated (I think only the black, not 100%

Adobe ACE would be better.

Normally, there should be a 'big' difference between relative intent, and

saturation or perceptual?
Nope. Until I know, RI will be used only in conversions RBG > RGB.... RGB >
CMYK..etc.
If you try to convert from RGB to CMYK, would be file specific dependent,
probably will see the diference.

For sure have something wrong in your profiling process, procedure or
colorimeter.
To edit a monitor profile isn't the better choice, or evem Not a choice some
people would to say.
You need to recheck every profile process to figure out.
More information will be needed.

I normally go in photoshop to Mode -> profile to profile and then:

Rendering Intent: Perceptual
A very general guide (not for every situation), would be to (if your monitor
are correctly profiled) pick many RGB profiles and try to assign (a quikly
prevew is offer in assign profile PS window) for the current image. When you
find a "natural" look or some more pleasent color, just assign and convert
to your output (your CMYK profile for example).
I'm sure that many others will give to you more valuable help.
