I recently worked with a Montreal-based photographer in profiling such a
baby. We used Matrix Mode 4 (corresponding to AdobeRGB) and Default film
settings if I remember well. As it turns out, there was no time for use to
try the 'linear' mode, but in Matrix mode 4 and Default film settings no
amount of profiling would help bring the image in line. Anything we tried --
I am not going to name packages -- just made the image looked worse! So, the
message is can't you trust the rendering of your camera at all? Is it that
bad?
