Epson Photo printers - 16 bit?

  • Subject: Epson Photo printers - 16 bit?

About 4 - 5 months ago I contacted Epson Tech Support to inquire as to whether the 2200/7600/9600 actually *used* 16 bit data or whether the printer (or driver) converted to 8-bit. After some "research," I was assured that they use 16 bit data and don't just convert to 8-bit. I'm not so assured. Anyone know the truth behind this?

TIA,
