I Use both. Nikon capture allows me to control, adjust and fire the D100
directly with my laptop (great for product work in the studio). Images are
then automatically transferred to the laptop. I process the images using
AdobeRAW. The AdobeRAW plugin is GREAT and is worth every penny it cost
(unlike so much other software that fails to live up to expectations).
When shooting RAW on location I often shoot a series of exposures which I
then process as optimised shadow, midtone and highlight versions of the
subject. The RAW plugin can output 16bit images which allows me to do
final tweaks in PS. The then combine the 3 images into one final. I can
thus capture and use a much wider subject luminance range than one
exposure would allow.
