Hello! I have two displays on my G4 TiBook: the laptop display, and an
external 19" LCD display. Both are calibrated with OptiCAL and the
ColorVision Spyder.
I opened a TIFF image in Photoshop 7. When I drag the image between the two
displays, the colors are "wrong" until I do something to cause Photoshop to
refresh the window. After a refresh, the colors appear "right" - taking into
consideration the differences in the two displays. (The external display has
a much higher contrast ratio, and the colors seem much more saturated than
on the laptop's display.)
When I view the same TIFF image with the Mac's "Preview" application, odd
things happen. When I open the image, it appears by default on the laptop's
display - but the colors are wrong! Yet, when I drag the image to the
external display, the colors are fine. On the laptop display, the image
looks *just like* the image displayed by Photoshop, on the laptop display,
*before* I cause the Photoshop window to refresh. But no amount of resizing
and dragging the image on the laptop display "fixes" the colors displayed by
the Preview application. It's almost as if Preview is using the wrong
display profile!
Has anyone else had a similar issue with Preview, or found a solution to
this?
Best Regards,
Jim
