At the risk of extending this thread off-topic, this was first introduced
(IIRC) by Microsoft to try to limit negative comparisons of their SQL
Server product. It was not originally intended to stop all reviews. MS
has since then extended this to all their products. This clause has been
accepted as "standard boilerplate" language by industry lawyers, and I'll
bet you find it almost verbatim in nearly all software you buy these days.
If you have a problem with language such as this with the software, any
responsible software company will allow you to sign an paper EULA with
different terms (which you can then negotiate). Note that you will have
better luck doing this will smaller companies than with companies the size
of Adobe or Microsoft.
