I could be wrong but, AFAIK, the CMYK profile *has* to contain ALL of the
printable colors achievable on the device -- by definition. Yes, that's the
idea behind profiling.
Otherwise, the mapping of Lab colors into the device would be "partial", and
that would not make sense.
