Dear Goh Eng Chye,
Thank you for replying Keith Gardner frm New York and the ColorSync List in
defense of ICC profiles shipped with the printer.
I have a question about those canned CLC1120 profile that come with the RIP.
My qyestion is: what good are those profiles if the print conditions these
were made under are not documented anywhere?
I mean the following:
A) How do I find out the type of paper that I shoud use to make those
profiles valid?
B) What were the calibrated densities (and dot gain) of the CMYK primaries
at that time?
C0 Which driver setup was used to print the targets?
Those are critical information, but, as you may know, it is never supplied
in the documentation.
That's why I say to myself (and my clients) "so much for canned ICC
profiles"!
