ImagePrint has a headstart; the new ColorBurst version for OS X is quite
reasonable with the latest update, which adds excellent screening. ColorBurst
is a
more normal format RIP that allows to to build and use standard channel
controlling CMYK profiles. ImagePrint is nicely preconfigured, but you really
need
to stay in RGB with it...

The color profiling software built into the Windows RIP does a good of CMYK
profiling (its not Hex capable, but thats usually overkill); keep in mind that
the OS X RIP has no profiling software included, its only the existing Windows
RIP that does.

Again, only if you are buying the WinRIP... on Mac, you are on your own to
supply your color solution. I find ProfilerPRO profiles quite effective with
the
images I've tried; I've worked with other brands of profiling software with
the Windows RIP, but not yet with the Mac version.
