Rich,
I have the Imageprint for a 7600. It is a piece of cake to use and
works well with OSX10.2.6. Their profiles are quite good. I have an
ione and Monaco proof from when I had a 5500 and was going nuts with
color matching. I have not bothered to profile the 7600 because I am
pretty happy with the Imageprint profiles. The blues seem to be off,
but I think that may be my monitor profile which is another issue.
Also, judging by the recent D1scussion postings you are something of a
detail man and I think you will be very pleased with what Imageprint
does with detail that Epson drivers do not. One thing that Imageprint
does not do in OS X is print from other applications which is a real
pain if you want to quickly print a bunch of proofs etc with image name
or captions. I have not yet tried B & W which I am eager to do but I
understand they have an exceptional rip for this.
I checked out Colorburst, but they had just released the OSX version
and I am tired of being an OS X ginnea pig so I went with Imageprint.
I would call them both up. You will get an ans. machine, but they both
call back. Personally, I would hold off on the profiling software,
sell the 2200 and buy a 7600 and a rip.
BTW, did you compare the Artisan with the 23" Cinema when you bought
your display? I ask because I am torn between the two and thus have
done nothing.
Henry
