I just started using PM 4.15 with my "older" i1 which does not allow you to
read ambient light with i1Share application.
I view all my work under tungsten halogen lights "illuminant A" according to
gretag. Color temp around 3800 with a cri of 100.
The illuminant A that comes with i1share is to warm. Like 2856K. Is this
right?? Does anyone out there have the newer eye one that can read ambient
light? If so I would be willing to pay for someone to measure tungsten
halogen light souce i.e. gallery lighting and email me the file.
Here is the readme from 4.1.5
"4. Generation of printer profiles for new inkjet systems with pigmented
inks
New inkjet systems with pigmented inks are supposed to exhibit a higher
colour stability than water-based inks. Sadly, pigmented inks tend to higher
metamerism effects. The same gray balance observed under two different light
sources may appear different. To avoid these problems it is important to
calculate the light source under which the print is observed into the
profile generation through the function 'View Light Source'. Measure your
testcharts with the enabled Spectral option in order to use this function.
If you are going to work with a D50 lightbox, we recommend generating
profiles based on special lightbox light sources which you can find in the
lightsource selection dialog instead of calculating standard D50 into the
profiles. After a few test runs you should select the lightsource that is
giving the best matches for your case.
Hint: When working with MultiColor and CMYK printing systems if possible try
to use separation settings with quite high black generation in order to
avoid problems caused by metamerism in the gray tones."
