You could use the software controls to deal with this, but in a practical
sense its really a matter of getting your screen luminance to be a reasonable
match for a sheet of paper under your proofing lights. If one or the other
seems
too bright or too dim, then you have a problem. If not, then you don't. I'd
shoot for the highest luminance that is a reasonable match, then not reset it
in
the calibration/profiling process.
