You don't really need to go out of your way to get great reflective scans.
The new Epson 3200 is pretty impressive and why drop more than $499 on a
flatbed scanner (it's not tabloid however).

You need the bulk carrier and it only works with the 848. You'll also drop
some bucks on additional carriers but after that, the carrier seems to work
pretty well (I don't own one but have played with it). The 848 has auto
detection of the carriers so the software will "know" if you're scanning
five 4x5's and fine 35mm's.
