Yes, create a new document in RGB mode, then add a new layer filled with
black, then change its opacity to whatever figure you want,i.e. 50%. Finally
convert to your prefered CMYK and you can notice that the opacity is
higher. I do not have a technical explanation but for sure this is really
visually.
