I have a LightJet 5000 and a Durst Epsilon 30 that I
have created
profiles for using Xrite DTP41 and Monaco Profiler.
The profiles are
very good indeed but there is quite a difference
between using
Perceptual or RelCol RI when mapping to the spaces.
Perceptual makes
the image much lighter overall compared to RelCol.
RelCol delivers very
accurate colors but of course clips those out of gamut
colors... <<<<<<<
You may wish to take a look at how much of your source
gamut is actually being used by your typical
production images. If you are doing mainly
portrait/wedding work, you will find that very few
images actually employ colors that will be clipped by
a RelCol conversion. Commercial work and signage are
another matter. Colorthink has tools that enable you
to see this graphically.
