Im having problems with FlexColor that might be related to Color Sync
management or Photoshop 7.0.1. When scanning negatives, FlexColor
preview window does not match what I wind up with in Photoshop. I have
tried FlexColor 3.5, 3.5.1, and 3.6 with my Imacon 646 under OS 9.2.2
as well as 10.2.4 and the results are identical. FlexColor setup is
configured correctly embedding my Photoshop working space - ColorMatch
RGB. The problem does not exist when scanning transparencies; in fact
all values between FlexColor preview window and the final Photosop Tif
are within 1 point, measured with the color picker. In order to get the
preview of some Kodak Portra images to where I want to be, I have
created a few custom negative setups with color corrections. The
preview is perfect, but the resulting Photoshop Tif is quite a bit more
yellow. I have compared histograms of a screen shot of one particular
image in FlexColor preview window to a screen shot of the resulting Tif
opened in Photoshop and the contours are the same but the Photoshop
histogram looks as if it were smoothed out. I have already talked with
Imacon, they have not been able to help me and they claim that there is
no problem with FlexColor - they cannot duplicate the problem at their
end. I do not know any Imacon owners, so it would be great to hear from
some of you. Has anyone experienced this and or do you have any
suggestions? Thanks in advance
Mariusz Mizera
