Tim,
If you're seeing the scanner through Photoshop, why bother or insist that
the ColorSync utility 'sees it"? Even if you could see it in the utility
what benefit do you expect you'll get?
INHO, the reason all those devices popup were there in OS9 was to realize a
vision of Apple that, all of a sudden, or in a near future, all applications
would become good "ColorSync" client and would base their conversion on that
setup. I personnally adhered to this philosophy. Call me contrarian. But, in
my day to day color processing, I was and still am more than happy
gravitating under the Adobe suite of color management extensions in
Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
