Before you measure your way to carpel tunnel syndrome, you should consider
the value of such high-patch targets. If you start taking measurements at
smaller increments than the grid of the profile, and smaller than the
consistancy of the measuring device, then you can take the "lines" of the
LUT, which are supposed to be gracefully and smoothly distorted as needed to
correct the values they represent, and turn them into gnarled, knotted
spaghetti. This offers little in the way of increased accuracy and sacrifices
a lot in the area of smoothness and consistancy. At what point this will
occur depends on the resolution of your profile, the accuracy of your
measuring device, and the consistancy of your printer.
