I have had problems with the original and the updated drivers with this
machine (uk) from the start in exactly the same manner as described. I have
been able to make the printer behave and recognize ink changes by adding it
via firewire twice in the print center - 1. as 2100 (standard) 2. as 2100
(maximum). Keep one of those settings for Matt Black and one for Photo
Black - it does not matter which, but remember which is which. Then, when
you change inks, turn off the printer, turn it on, choose the other setting,
and presto, the ink change is recognized. If it is not by any chance, then
turn off the printer, re-start the computer, and re-choose again. A pain in
the .., but it works.
Question - do updated drivers change the way custom profiles work?
And where is the utility (ink levels, nozzle check etc) in the 2100 drivers
in osx?
Any feedback welcome
Steph
