I'm actually heading to an install this evening where we're reverting back
to the previous version as the new driver caused all kinds of problems.
Under the new driver we can no longer switch between Photo and Matte black
ink, even after removing and re-installing the printer in Print Center. I'm
hoping reverting will solve this but I remain pessimistic.
For example, when we switched from Matte to Photo, removed the printer from
the list in Print Center, and re-added it we were unable to print (USB
interface incidentally). The queue would stop itself with no error message
or explanation as to what had happened. Does anyone care to guess if Epson
was helpful or not? This is one situation (and the only one really) where I
actually prefer the Windows operating system!
If anyone has had similar issues or experiences and can shed some light on
the subject I would love to hear about it. I don't want to tell this person
they need to purchase ImagePrint in order to make the bloody printer work
in OS X. This is so frustrating...beautiful hardware, beyond sucky
software.
I've had exactly the same experience. I was able to get the printer
to print by cycling power on both printer and host CPU, but that
falls somewhat short of the notion of "hot-swapping."
Removing and adding the printer didn't help. Rebooting did. I've
reported the problem to my contacts at Epson, and will let you know
if anything comes of it.
