My guess is that 1) you're using a difference conversion engine/CMM between
the two versions OR 2) there's been a change made to the SAME CMM between
PS6 and 7. Weren't there some changes made to the Adobe (ACE) CMM between 6
and 7?
I'd try one of the other CMMs (Heidelberg?) and see if you see the same
change happening. And I'm assuming you're using the same rendering intent
options in both. That wouldn't necessarily account for the magenta cast but
it would explain one coming out lighter than the other.
