Hello:
I am having a problem with my existing profiles when I use them with
PS7.0 and/or OS 10.2.5.
Until recently, I have been using OS 9.2.2 with PS 6.01, most of my
output is to an Iris 3047 or 3024. I apply my input and CMYK output
profiles in PS, export the file in a Scitex compatible format straight
through to FEP and on to the printer. I have created my profiles using
ProfileMaker and a Spectrolino/SpectroScan. Up to now everything has
been predictable and consistent until I started to use PS7.0 under OS
10.2.5.
Here's the problem: using the same RGB file with the same output
profile yields different results when the conversion is made in PS 6
vs. PS 7. I have carefully checked that the color management settings
between PS 6 and PS 7 are exactly the same, yet the files output
visibly different (PS 7.0 yields a slightly lighter, more magenta
result). The difference between the two is not huge but it is
different none the less.
Does anyone know why this would happen? Would it be a OS X issue?
Thanks,
Jim Morris
