If they are using the base EverSmart Jazz with the base v2.5 package
(five or so years old) then they have the option to embed the default
profiles they are probably inadvertently using: see attachment.
Here's the default profile too. Assigning this to the raw scan may
tell you a lot.
The default RGB profiles are enormous. All the scanner profiles I've
made for Jazz reach about 70-80 percent of the size indicated in the
attached graphic. If they are scanning into the CMYK LUT then you are
probably getting an RGB version of that space.
If you do choose to go with this service, go to
http://www.hutchcolor.com/ and download Don's scanning guide. Then
plug them in.
