What you might want to look for is a linearization and ink limiting option

in that rip. Do the lin first and then the ink limiting, then send the

printer targets. This strategy will not only give you a better looking raw

A: Jim hit the nail on the head. Hard.
B: The ColorChoice RIP has a linearization feature called Density
Adjustment under the Setup Menu. Supports most Xrite (DTP41 yes),
ColorSavvy, Gretag Instruments.
C: Generate a .trc (tone reduction curve) swatch with this app,
measure and load into the density adjustment menu in your setup.
TRCs, like profiles, are media and resolution specific.
D: Generate your profile through the .trc curve.
E: Use this profile to convert up front, turn Color Correction off in
the RIP, make sure you have your .trc enabled, and you are on your
way.
F: Error Diffusion is the finist screening from this RIP, but takes a
long time. FMXpress is an excellent second and quite fast. Avoid KF
and LX.
ps: there is a TC MC 6.0 Hexachrome_DTP41.eps testchart if you are in
fact looking to build MCLR profiles for CMYKOG (hexachrome). If you
going RGB you might find better luck with the TC2.88 RGB DTP41.tiff
target. Personally, for application use I prefer the ECI2002 targets.
