where he wants to go with the Colorchoice rip. There are no 'open' tools or
ways to control ink limiting or linearization (like Bestcolor and others) or
even processing without profiles in order to print your targets raw. I went
down that road far enough (and have the names and extensions of tech support
folks and product managers) to get verbal confirmation that what is stated
in the propaganda as to letting you build your own custom profiles for
alternate medias, just isn't really possible. Your customer has to explore
alternate rips.
The Colorchoice offers some real nice screening and prints are good if you
use the papers for which canned profiles are supplied. But if you want to
use alternate papers - you're just outta luck.
hmmm...I've been linearizing and printing targets raw through
ColorChoice, PhotoPrintServer and FlexiPrint for about five years
now. I must have missed something.
