HP letter-size printers

  • Subject: HP letter-size printers

Has anyone tried any of the new crop of HP letter-size printers (6 to 8 colors!) ie 7660/7760/7960? I am particularly curious about their print quality. I noticed that they can take gray cartridges (some or all of them? the web site is particularly useless in this regard) -- any experience with b&w printing?

HP makes claims for b&w printing and print longevity unmatched by any other dye-based printer, especially on glossy paper -- but I'm unclear about the differences among the models in terms of inks (what a useless website...), and also wondering if the print quality is comparable to the best Epson (or Canon) is offering.

TIA.
Armand
