Sorry, my original question was possibly too vague, let me restate my
OS migration concerns more specifically.
Should the existence of these various printing and driver issues be
cause for concern about the current state of development for OS X's
system-wide tool box for implementing color solutions? If Apple is
indeed considering a OS 9.x bootable G5 (wild rumour?) that would be
news to consider.
My skepticism of OS X stems from observing (at some distance) the
effect of changes which Apple made to how OS X handled SCSI scanning
devices from version 10.1 to 10.2. In a case which may be familiar to
some forum members, major revision of application software was
involved.
Could Apple possibly have "updates" for OS X/colorsync which will
render the color software I buy this year obsolete in 6 months? _or_
is the current release pretty much "the way it's gonna be" with
respect to color management system-wide?
Thanks to all for your thoughts, and may everyone's crystal ball be
eternally in sharp focus with an accurate ICC profile applied...
