Artisan or not, sRGB on a Mac that's outside of a color managed application
looks kind of ugly.
All I can say is it works pretty well for me on non-Artisan monitors
I have tried. Not perfect, mind you. Converting files to sRGB prior
to displaying them in apps that ignore profile tags often gives
pleasing results on both Mac and PC monitors. The same is not true of
Adobe RGB for example. Explanation, please?
So all I'm suggesting is that we try and pick something
from a non color managed environment on a Mac and I suspect that it will be
closer to Apple RGB or ColorMatch (which are both closer to the native, non
color managed display Mac users would be working with).]
No argument. All I'm saying is that sRGB is more likely than
ColorMatch to give pleasant (if not accurate) results.
Although none of us wants to have sRGB imposed as a
standard, as some industrial giants would like, my experience says
that it is often close on both PC and Mac systems.
How, outside of a color managed application can they look the same or
similar?
Why would there be a big difference inherently in a Mac display
calibrated to 6500K and 2.2 vs a (uncalibrated, usually?) PC display?
