OK. But why artificially tie it to the OS when it's a hardware phenomenon --
monitors (at least all CRTs I know of) are "born" with a gamma of 2.2 (or
2.5 some litterature argue). Where could this be made into an "OS" gamma?
Perhaps, you mean an 'Default Monitor System profile" with a gamma of 2.2.
Yes, there it makes sense IMHO.
