Hello Everybody,
I was here last spring with a massive problem of getting my files printed
out correctly at a remote offset printer. Neither I, my go-between producer
or the printer knew much (or anything) about color management.
Since then we have all lived through that nightmare and I have bought, on
your many (thank you thank you) recommendations:
- a Multisync FP912 monitor (I got rid of my six year old monitor)
- One Eye calibration system
- an Epson 2200 printer
I can now be confident of good color results within my own system.
Also, I can produce very different results on my system that demonstrate to
my producer (who works with the printer) that it's the color management
between the systems that is key in getting correct color from my files on
the remote printing process.
Now, if my producer stays with the same printer, the printer either needs to
be able to interpret my profile, and if not, I need to get their profile (a
Heidelberg system) so I can color correct and soft proof here.
Do you have some good current recommendations on third party services that
could produce the profile for this specific Heidelberg press, paper and ink
combination?
- Sharon
