Firewire to SCSI converters do come to mind, but a quick web tour
convinced me that compatibility is a definite problem for scanners
using such adapters. Sounds like a can of worms to me. Still,
persistence could pay off -- several options in such adapters are
available...
Have you considered dropping Classic altogether? For example, I found
that VueScan software works just fine (OSX native) with my Polaroid
SS35+ SCSI scanner (don't laugh!) in native mode. It's a pretty cheap
solution. Same SCSI card and similar G4 to what you have. Just a
thought.
Good luck.

Hi All,
I wonder if someone has found a workaround to use a SCSI scanner in
Classic but system booted in OSX ? Basically, the Scitex Eversmart I
use is not found in this mode (I use a G4 dual 500 with ADAPT-2930CU).
With the new Photoshop working only in OSX (as far as I know), I might
want to switch permanently but scanning will be impossible .
