Michael,
I found your comments interesting, because I have had to give up using
my Formac Gallery 20 for color-matching to prints. It simply isn't
accurate when profiled with Optical and a LCD Spyder. It always has a
magenta tinge. I still use it for the initial work on images, because
the screen is so sharp and easy to view in daylight. But for the final
color matching I've resorted to an Artisan. Nowhere near as nice to
work with, but the colors seem dead accurate.
Bob Frost.

Dear Bob
My apologies for contacting you off list but I am really interested in
what you are saying. I have been tempted by the large LCD's but have
not felt convinced that it is the route to go for really accurate colour
work.
I plan on putting in an Artisan but will miss the 24" Sony CRT that has
been my main imaging screen for a time. I made a half way house
decision a few months ago and got a 19" LCD for office and Internet use
and that has been a good move and has given me first hand experience of
the benefits and drawbacks of an LCD screen. Please can you elaborate
on the benefits you find with your Artisan?
Best wishes
Richard
