Just an idea that might work or not for you: in our studio we upgraded to a new G4
which is not bootable under OS9. Although the Imacon Precision we have is completely
compatible with OSX, we just keep an older Blue-white G3 for scanning and have both
machines hooked up to the same monitor and keyboard.
A simple data switcher is enough to have both machines running in one workplace -
and these G3s are pretty cheap now. It turned out to be quite convenient having the
G3 do all the scans directly on the G4's HDD over the network, and using the faster
machine for real work.
