This is not a definitive list but here are a few things you can try:
1. It's not my intention to insult you intelligence, but stating the
obvious first :), check you are using the correct settings in the driver
for the ink and media you are using.
2. Find media that is more accepting of high ink limits.
3. Some profiling applications allow you to limit the chart image before
it is printed. Which is exactly what you want in this case.
MonacoProfiler has such a feature, sadly GretagMacbeth ProfileMaker has
not. I don't know about other profiling tools. You can either purchase a
profiling tool that has that feature, or find a remote profiling service
that has and would work with you in getting a good chart printed by
supplying ink limited chart images for you to print.
4. Most troublesome in time and effort: Limit the chart image yourself,
but don't forget to change the "reference file" that describes the chart
as well. This option ought to be your place of last resort. It's
interesting, but a pain to do and your out on the edge.
Assuming 1 is in hand :), option 3 is the most flexible.
