mystery red to green conversion

  • Subject: mystery red to green conversion

I took a photo of a nice bright red plastic object and tried printing it on
an Epson 2200. The colors were all great except for the red which was
changed to lime green. I tried switching from Epson color management
to colorsync but got the same color problem.

I went into Photoshop, selected the red, desaturated it, check to make sure
that I ended up with safe colors, then printed through Photoshop. The
desaturated red turned into desaturated lime green.

I use Epson's icc profile and have tried all kinds of paths through the system
but still get the damn lime green. I have done a lot of printing but have never
run into this before.

Any suggestions of what to try?

Thanks,
Ed Catmull
