I am working with 2.5.7
ftp://ftp.heidelbergusa.com/prepress/public/SCANNERS/NEWCOLOR/NC_2.5.7_update/
I have experienced the same thing with a profile I made. It was explained to me that Newcolor looks for certain tags to place the profile appropriately and some third party profile creation applications ignore these tags. The tech from Heidelberg fixed my profile using Printopen and suggested to mention the issue the the manufacture of the profiling software.
