Thanks to Bruce, Chris, and Fred, we now have a pretty good understanding of
Calibrating and Profiling a monitor, but have a problem with our iMac that
only has control panel adjustments for contrast and brightness (which are
not available when OptiCal is running.)
ColorVision Sales and Support offered the following:
"If you do not have access to "Brightness/Contrast" controls on the front of
the monitor you should skip all steps asking you to adjust those settings.
Simply set the contrast and brightness settings to levels suitable for your
working environment and continue through the calibration without making any
adjustments."
Would it be better to use Apple's Monitor Calibration Assistant first and
then let OptiCal create the profile?
