Adobe released the command structure of PostScript in 1986. There are currently both Adobe RIPs and emulation RIPs.

Adobe OEMs a Configurable PostScript Software Interpreter (CPSI). On the OEM market you can also obtain JAWS which is the emulation product available from Globalgraphics, once Harlequin, and GhostScript from Artisoft, for instance.
